Set how far in advance it should reach — a few hours, or up to a week — and it picks up Canvas quizzes, essays, discussions and uploads as they come due, without being asked.
Courseware outside Canvas isn’t picked up unattended: Canvas can’t see when that work is finished, so it waits for you rather than risk redoing something you already did.
It keeps the computer awake
With work still in the queue and the app running, SilentStudent holds off sleep so a 2 a.m. run actually happens instead of quietly not happening.
Leave the lid open and the app running — it can’t wake a machine that’s already asleep, closing the lid still sleeps it, and a hold is capped at 18 hours so a wedged run can’t keep your laptop up indefinitely.

Finished, drafted, held for you, or didn’t happen — each one lands in your history with a reason, including the runs that never started.
An interrupted run is retried up to three times before it gives up and says so. And where a platform won’t confirm what actually landed, it records the work as done but marks the completion unverified rather than inventing a number.

When SilentStudent meets a tool it has no solver for — Yellowdig, Perusall, Labster, Kritik, Harmonize and the long tail of things bolted into Canvas — it falls back to reading the screen and working the page the way you would. It’s slower and it isn’t guaranteed, but it means an unfamiliar platform is a harder problem rather than a dead end.

Built from your class, not a question bank
Practice comes from the actual work in your course — the questions on the assignment SilentStudent just went through, turned into a set you can drill. It’s your material, not a generic pool with your subject’s name on it.
Questions that aren’t all multiple choice
Plot a line, place points on a number line, balance an equation, fill a spreadsheet, label a diagram, work a multi-step problem. Anything with a definite answer is marked right there on your machine; free writing gets graded against the key points instead.
It remembers what you missed
Every attempt updates a picture of which skills are solid and which aren’t. Weak ones come back on a schedule instead of being quietly dropped, and you can pull a practice exam aimed straight at them.
Prep for a test it will never touch
Hit Prep on a Canvas quiz you’re sitting yourself. It reads round the quiz — the module, the readings, the syllabus — and builds a study pack without ever opening it: no attempt started, no questions read, nothing on your record. Marking it Prep is also how you tell the bot to leave that one alone.
Autonomous doesn't mean reckless.
Most "AI auto-pilot" tools either go full-throttle or won't move at all. SilentStudent works through your queue on its own, but Canvas essays, discussion posts and file uploads are always drafted for your approval, and graded, single-attempt, untimed quizzes pause before they submit so you can check every answer — the confidence threshold you set is what makes that pause automatic.

External courseware works differently: Packback posts, and anything the vision agent types on a platform without its own solver, are published directly. Every one of them still runs through the writing humanizer first.
Confidence Scoring
The bot rates its own confidence on every quiz answer. Set the threshold — on a graded, single-attempt, untimed Canvas quiz, one answer below it stops the whole quiz for your review.
Default 70%. Timed quizzes, multi-attempt quizzes and anything close to its deadline are never held — they submit. A hold gives you about 15 minutes and then submits on its own rather than sitting there — while the bot is running. Pause or quit with a hold open and it waits for your verdict instead.
